You know, we read all these “Self Help Modules”. Tons of pieces of valid information in the world to move one forward. Yet in still, we at times, appear to be at a “stand still” , moving fast with no hopes of results. You have to remember, no matter what. That feeling is TEMPORARY! Don’t get caught in it.
My business just made 13 years old this past June. 13 years I have worked on my baby. If I had to revue my baby, I might say it’s a “special needs baby”. I created it from scratch, just an idea in my head. You know what? The idea WORKED! The idea supports me. The idea allows me to live part of the life I want EVERY DAY! I don’t believe in compromise. It is this very belief that has slowed me down in life. But I hold true to my belief system. It’s all I have. It’s made me who I am today. I am giving you my authentic self, because that is all I know how to be. I love me. I am my number 1 fan. It is this belief in MYSELF that has allowed me to work with several Fortune 500 Brands. From Pepsi to Walmart to Nielsen Ratings and more. Because of my “belief”this little girl from Gary, IN is building a Multi-Million Dollar Corporation, at times from the comfort of her home.
So, today’s lesson is…HURDLES!
What are hurdles?
One of a series of barriers to be jumped over in a race. Something that makes an achievement difficult.
In the game of business, these hurdles pop up like Gophers in a Game! When I was about 6, there was this fun place we used to go to called “Celebration Station”. They had this game where gophers would pop up and you would have to “wack them down!” Who knew this game was training me for “real business life”. Thanks God! You knew! Thanks for the prep. In business these “gophers” and “hurdles” come in the form of Paperwork. Big, crazy, long documents of paperwork to keep you tripped up and exhausted from even trying to play the game!
Alas, but the race isn’t given to the swift…(side note: This Bible that was on Earth when you got here, it has some pretty great stuff in it. I HIGHLY encourage you to read it to draw your own conclusions).
Ecclesiastes 9: 11- I have seen something else under the sun: the race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance will happen to them ALL!
Whew! Somebody pass the plate! That is a WORD RIGHT THERE!!! (I can’t take credit) it’s in the Bible.
What does this mean for you? It means you are going to have to jump some HURDLES if you really want it! 13 years in business, I’ve been jumping hurdles since day 1. We are on day 4,745. I’m still jumping these bad boys.
What might be holding you back? Completing your paperwork in a swift detailed manner. The hurdle is all about seeing if YOU really care about earning someones business. Everybody won’t jump hurdles…only true Champions do that.
